Urban Metabolism & Environmental Footprints of Cities

Working on both urban metabolism and articulating different types of transboundary urban supply chain footprints. We are beginning to gather this data for developing economies. There are large knowledge/method and data gaps for cities in rapidly industrializing economies.

This includes a focus on Asia, where data collection is currently limited, and infrastructure for millions of urban residents will be built in the coming decades. With this scope, we will concentrate on:

•    The cutting-edge of metabolism and environmental footprinting methodologies
•    Means of data collection  and urban data standardization
•    Approaches to building a typology(ies) of cities based on these data

  • Updates on the Urban Metabolism theme will be posted here. Stay tuned!
